Teacher Cover Letter

Cover Letter for a Teaching Position

So, you’ve whipped your resume into shape and it’s time to ‘shotgun’ it out there if you ever expect to find one of those teaching positions. Congratulations! You’re almost over the hump. Next is your Cover Letter.  You only have one chance to make a great impression, so it better be good.

Cover Letter for Teachers

What is revealed about you between the lines of your cover letter?

If you give me a minute, I’ll show you the best website I’ve seen for developing your resume Cover Letter.  I recommend you read to the end of the page to avert a lot of wasted time and energy.

Be Forewarned: Many People Get This Wrong
For help with just about anything, most people seek ideas on the Internet.  There is certainly no scarcity of cover letter samples and examples out there that anyone can use for free.

I like to sway the odds in my favor to the extent possible.  If the masses (of the uninitiated) are using the common ordinary cover letter templates found on the Internet, then I’m going to turn it up a notch and find something that the top percentile uses to get that edge.  Why leave anything to chance.

Teacher Cover Letter Tip: The Reality
In a competitive teaching jobs environment, you can have more than one person with very similar qualifications.  The resumes in the short stack that get invited to a personal interview are, no doubt, covered with a letter that outshines all the rest.  You can’t have a ‘ho-hum’ cover letter and expect to get an interview.

Your cover letter is not the place to get lazy.  You have a remarkable resume. Don’t send it out with a cover letter that makes you look like ‘a nobody.’  No one will read your resume if you do.

Fortunately for me, I came across a treasure, in terms of what it did for my cover letter.  With it, I effectively leveled the playing field. No one has a better cover letter than I do.  Someone may have better qualifications.  If someone has anything on me it will come out in each of our interviews.

Here is the Resource I Used to Transform My Cover Letter

 The Amazing Cover Letter Creator

The Amazing Cover Letter Creator has been around for several years and has been downloaded by thousands of people.  This is your opportunity to market yourself –it is exactly what you need to do.  The interviews go to the people who do this.

“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.”  Mark Twain

Some say that in the field of education, your cover letter is scrutinized more than it might be in other professions.  It must be flawless, free of grammatical and spelling errors. It must reflect your passion.  It must grab the reader’s interest immediately.  You have to get it right the first time. There will be no second chance.

The Secret Sauce: A Few Pointers That Generate More ‘Juice’

  • Most people agree that bullet points and/or numbering are pleasing to the eye and easier to read.  They tend to grab attention and can often stimulate curiosity.
  • Customize your cover letter for each position you apply for.
  • Never send a copy of the letter.
  • Do not fall into the trap of beginning too many sentences with the word “I”.
  • Know … that mistakes may well cause immediate rejection of your letter (and attached resume).

P.S.  An excellent ‘P.S.’ (post script)  can significantly increase the response to your Cover Letter.  According to hiring managers, the P.S. is often the first thing read in a Cover Letter.

Keep in mind that no matter how badly you want / need / got to have / can’t live without -that teaching position, the learning institution is interested in only one thing.  The school itself has a need that must be fulfilled.  That is what the administrator has as a priority; the school’s priority –not yours.

How To Find Out More
Thank you for reading this far.  I hope that some of the information I’ve given you above is useful.

My goal is to fashion my cover letter such that the reader mumbles to himself (or herself) “Finally –I got a good one.”

What I encourage you to do is take a close look at the Cover Letter Creator I mentioned above.  You’ll be able to find out exactly what it costs (not much), what you get with it and much more.

    OK -I took your advice.

I’ve been struggling to get an interview and decided it was time to try something different.

I don’t want this to sound like a Dear Abby column, but I’ve been up against it lately. I don’t have the luxury of any more time to waste.

On blind faith I got my hands on the Cover Letter Creator. I’ve seen all kinds of junk that is supposed to get me a job. My expectations were low.

Long story short -I really like the Cover Letter Creator. Thank you for writing the compelling piece about it. Funny thing is -I found this website by accident. I don’t know how but I landed here. maybe it was my guardian angel.

I was in such dire straights before. This week coming I have my 2nd interview coming. I was told I’m on the short-list for a city school district.

    Thanks again -
