Amazing Cover Letter Creator: Review

Fair Questions
When you read the sales page, it sounds like the greatest thing since pie ala mode.  But can it live up to the hyperbole surrounding it? Does it deliver what it promises?  Can it be trusted?

The Cover Letter Creator made a splash as a way to market yourself, in much the same manner as products are marketed.

The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter–it’s the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning. -Mark Twain

There exists a powerful way to increase the odds of turning the spotlight onto you by choosing the right words to use in a resume cover letter.  The art of finding the right words to use will garner special attention in any media or any social setting, for that matter.

This is true whether hawking potato chips, toothpaste, endearing yourself to a new love interest, or when attempting to get an interview for a job

Anyone who has been in the job market for any length of time knows that only a small percentage of resume submissions receive a follow-up phone call for an interview.

Who, then, gets the call?
It is the contention of the author of the Cover Letter Creator, Jimmy Sweeney, that most resumes do not even get read. That’s because there wasn’t enough in the cover letter to compel the reader to want to know more about the person.

If you read between the lines you can see it’s not all about how qualified you are, or how good a fit you’d be for that job opening.  You have to get your foot in the door.

How Does It Work?
The Amazing Cover Letter Creator is a program to use on your computer that is capable, with your own unique input, of effectively separating your resume (that is to say YOU) from the rest of the herd -and landing it in the short stack of those who get a follow-up phone call.

Which is, after all, the Goal.

The main, positive attribute of the Cover Letter Creator is the simplification of the process of getting your resume (and therefore yourself) noticed.

In my view, Jimmy Sweeney has indeed, made the process simpler.  As with most things,  however, there are pros and cons that go along with it.

What are the pros of using this system?
The most important pro or, positive attribute of the system is the degree to which one can customize the content of the letter.

The degree of experience you have in your field (or lack thereof) is factored in.  As is the perceived size of the pool of job applicants you are competing against.  And, further, you need to factor in whether you’re going for a mid-level job, a high level, high paying job, or a lower level job with a lower pay scale.  Each requires special treatment.

The ‘meat’ of the letter will contain one (or several) ‘attention getting ingredients’ (AGI) that are customized for you according to your input and your unique situation.

The result should be a letter that commands special attention.

Why?

By making use of certain components having their roots in marketing, this letter, which is essentially a business letter, will appeal to the reader.  Very few people have the background to effectively pull that off.

Is There More?
Another advantage of this system is the so-called ‘bonus’ items that accompany this program.

There is the compilation of Contest Winning Cover Letters, consisting of three actual contest winners.  Each is analyzed for what makes it special.  The user is encouraged to create his or her own cover letter –and then bounce it against the three winners to see if there’s anything there that could be used –like the cherry on the cupcake.

Next is a fourteen page pdf doc about negotiating salary.  It’s good stuff to know for obvious reasons.

You also get an eleven part essay on successful interviewing.  After crafting an exceptional cover letter that gets you the interview, some tips on interviewing might come in handy, eh?  This guide pales in comparison to the Ultimate Guide to Interview Answers, -but it’s good reading, nonetheless.

I also received via email, a 3-day mini-course detailing a three-step formula for tripling your chances of getting an interview.

Finally, there is no risk for trying the system. The company offers a 60 day ‘no questions asked’ refund policy.

How about the Cons –is there a downside?
There is not much to talk about, really.  There is one area for improvement that I see.   I find the hyperbole contained on the sales page quite distasteful.  I’m not much for hype. Usually, I’ll pass it by, if possible.

But, here’s the rub …

If I didn’t take the time to find out more about this product I would have lost a good opportunity.  I’m glad I worked through it.

Part of the hype I found is the assertion that you can build a cover letter in 3-1/2 minutes.

Oh, really?

Maybe someone can do that, but it certainly wouldn’t be very well thought out.

Wrap-up of My Findings | The Most Precious Commodity
For me, being over fifty, the most precious commodity I have is time.  I was searching for some answers to the mystery of what is required of me to get on the short-list and get an interview.

I’ve seen the free examples and the free samples.  It is my experience that most people submit the same old tired letters which is what the free stuff is largely made up of.  I realized I had to put a shine on my cover letter if I expected to leapfrog over the field of competitors.

For me, there was no viable alternative that I could find.

Cover Letter Tip | The Connection Theory
It’s been my observation that the people who get the first interviews are connected in some way.  They may be the son/daughter of a friend, or the nephew or niece of some manager –or the like.

Often, the only reason a job is posted is to avoid the appearance of impropriety when they already know who they want to hire for a position.  In this instance, you may get an interview and it may be ‘just for show.’

You will not have any control over that.  Don’t waste time fretting about it.

The best you can hope for in such a situation is to run a close second.  If you do, you will be remembered –and you don’t know where that might lead; what doors may open as a result.

You just don’t know when or if it will ever happen.  I can tell you, though, such things do frequently occur.  For example, sometimes, Mr. Well-Connected doesn’t work out all that well.

Get This -It’s Important
You may find yourself the one that is  connected, someday, when you were remembered as one who would be an excellent candidate to fill a slot.  That’s what running a close second is about and why it is important.  I know because I’ve been there –more than once.

If you want to run a close second, do you think the free stuff found on the internet will get you there?  Personally, I don’t have time in my life to chance it anymore.  I choose to unleash every advantage I can lay my hands on.

What’s Your Next Step Going to Be?
For me, the Amazing Cover letter Creator was just what I needed, when I needed it.  I strongly encourage you to take a close look at it.  Find out how much it costs (not much) and what you get with it.

What if it works for you like it did for me?

    Hello there -

I know what you mean about being connected and having no control.

I thought my ship came in when I was invited for an interview. Little did I know they already knew who they wanted to hire.

I feel used. All they did was call for applicants to fill their file cabinet and give the illusion of fair play.
You are right -it is something over which I have no control. I’ll mark it up as a practice round.

Who knows -as you suggested, maybe that gal will bomb out and I’ll get a call.

    Thanks for the great insight.

      Dana -

I’m sorry to hear about what you just went through. It does happen occasionally.
I have found, though, that everything leads to something else.

You will probably find a more attractive job position somewhere else.

      Best of luck with that.
